Hello, Given the climate changes affecting extreme weather causing floods and droughts, it is essential to maintain green spaces that thrive. Farm land helps us with food security. Green space helps cool against extreme heat. Green spaces absorb excess water instead of flooding. Read more

I am concerned about the current boundary expansion proposal. I would prefer to see housing developed within the urban core which will not require taxpayers to fund new services, and will be eligible to federal funding. We need to preserve our green spaces. Read more

Our community has so little good employment…Stelco has stated that they will pull out of Nanticoke if you build. You really need to look at how much Stelco pays in taxes and also their employees. If you lose all that money, will you really recoup just with property taxes? Read more

Ontario is experiencing a crisis in housing. Building single family homes on flood plains and other environmentally sensitive or agriculturally significant land isn't going to house low income people. Read more

I strongly object to the proposed changes to the Provincial Planning Policy wrt Ontario's prime farmland. Much of it is Class 1 farmland and needs to be used to grow food for people and animals. Read more

This is incredibly short sighted. Once farmland is lost to development you can’t get it back. Housing needs can be met on a much smaller land base. All this does is create more large, expensive lots for the rich, inflating the price of land and blocking it a new generation of farmers. Read more

Call me James. I was talking with a friend about Bill 97 when this thought came to mine. No one or group of people can force a farmer to sell a building lot for a home unless "The ontario government permits it." Therefore the land owner get to make the final decision.

The infinite growth that our current provincial government is obsessed with is unsustainable and wholly negligent. Our greenspaces, especially life sustaining watersheds, require our protection as does the wildlife that depend on them for their very survival. Read more

I strongly disagree with the use of farmland in developing housing when many options and land is already available. Our farmland in Southern Ontario is key to feeding the population of this province and preserving a balance of land use and population density. Read more

It is a grave mistake to allow the all important farmland to be used for suburbs. Instead, the existing land zoned for residential use should allow for intensification. Single-family homes are the past and should not be the future for most residents of Ontario.
