My comments are as follows: 1) Legislate that in the 10-year Greenbelt review, outside of minor housekeeping, any amendments to boundaries can only add lands to the Greenbelt with no possibility for land swaps. Read more

The greenbelt structure along with the policies are unfair to actual farmers who own the land. We have never been shown any reports to why our land was included. We have no water, no animal migration pattern and our land is poor quality farm land. Read more

I am particularly concerned about the protection of the Duffins Rouge Agricultural preserve. In this time of climate change and local food crisis, we have to protect this Class 1 farmland, adjacent to the Rouge park, and rich in wetlands, creeks and ecological diversity. Read more

We are grateful to the people who originally had the vision to create the Greenbelt Plan. Their foresight was truly profound. Green spaces that are the lungs of Southern Ontario, home to wildlife, agriculture, rivers, springs and wetlands, were to be protected and enjoyed. Read more

This amendment should have a public consultation process. I agree the lands must be placed back in. I disagree with this amendment where land adjustments will be a solely political process. This opens possibilities for another majority government to vote for land removal or illegitimate land swaps. Read more
