We need homes for our growing population. Most people want a home with a backyard and a place for their children to play and grow, not a condominium. The lands in the Book Rd area as mentioned by the farmers are not productive enough to make a living at farming. Read more

This proposal is a huge mistake. I fiercely oppose the government’s wildly reckless determination to destroy valuable farm land at a time when people can barely afford to put food on the table. Ontario should be encouraging more local farming, not deterring and preventing it. Read more

I am particularly concerned about the protection of the Duffins Rouge Agricultural preserve. In this time of climate change and local food crisis, we have to protect this Class 1 farmland, adjacent to the Rouge park, and rich in wetlands, creeks and ecological diversity. Read more

We need to protect what limited farmland we have left. Some of the most fertile land in all of Canada can be found along the southern shores of Lake Ontario. That fruit growing land is basically all housing units now. Read more
