My concern about new mines involves animal testing of tailings. Fish and shrimp are Acute Lethality tested, and frogs and fish are dissected for testing. These cruel tests need to be replaced with Non Animal Methods. https://www.change.org/p/stop-testing-sewer-water-on-laboratory-fish

The financial component of the Assessment work submission needs updating. Currently, geologists are required to spend more time sorting receipts and invoices and applying dollars to specific units or categories that are much to specific. Read more

Our main argument is that the duty to consult and accommodate enshrined in section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982 can be triggered by the mining claim process under Ontario's Mining Act and the associated regulations. As such, the operation of the Act ought to be amended to reflect this fact. Read more
