Climbing in Ontario has a long and established history with room for growth and community building. One need only observe Elliot Lake's adoption of rock climbing on nearby land to see a community which has embraced the positive impact that rock climbing can engender; a common story worldwide. I think that making rock climbing at devils glen acceptable is a great idea. Climbing for myself, wife and daughter has such a positive impact to us through physical activity and mental fortitude. It is such a great bonding activity for us and our friends. Read more

This is amazing news for me as an Ontario climber. As someone who works as a registered nurse in a busy Toronto hospital, I find myself unwinding by going out on weekends and rock climbing. Rock climbing for me is the most important thing that I do for my mental health. Read more

Devil’s Glen is where I fell in love with climbing. It’s a beautiful area with so much to enjoy! I met various other climbers there who were always kind and respectful. Out of the many weekends I spent there I never witnessed belligerence from climbers, as the property owners seem to claim. Read more

This is fantastic. Thank you! Devil's Glen hosts some of the best climbing in the province and making it an officially approved recreation will help protect us from harassment and allow us to better focus on being good stewards of the nature that all climbers are passionate about.

Very much in favour of these changes specifically in relation to rock climbing in the park. An official plan is long overdue for the activity and will be a positive change for both those in the climbing community as well as for the community and environment at large. Read more
