I am strongly opposed to the amendment in Bill 162, which allow expropriation without environmental assessment and without proof that the expropriation in necessary, and I want Schedule 1 to be removed from Bill 162. In Waterloo Region expropriation of the farms of 7 families has been threatened.

I urge that the official plan adjustments that are being proposed and therefore opening farmland and greenfields for development be denied. Keep farmland as farmland. Protect the existing water supply .

I am very disturbed about the recent move to buy farmland for development. This goes against the ROP that was agreed upon less than two years ago. It was a progressive plan, which looked to the future of our environment and wellness of our citizens.
