Please include animals (pets, livestock, animals in shelters, zoos, sanctuaries) in the evacuation plans. Please also have a protocol to rescue wild animals and lost domestic animals from the smoke and fire.
We here at Forests Ontario, together with our partners, plant ~ 2.5 million trees in Ontario on an annual basis. We want to work more closely with the Ministry on better planting practices to help mitigate against wildfire.

I am not completely clear as to why southern Ontario would not be included in this strategy. While I understand that northern Ontario is at far greater risk for wildland fires, southern Ontario is not without risk, especially Eastern Ontario.

Up to date authorities to:
Stop a person vehicle machinery or vessel train or rolling stock of a railway.
Rules as to how to legally stop a vehicle vessel individual etc.
Request identification
Provide for an arrest authority to secure identification

Please include rescue and evacuation of both pets, farm animals, and wildlife during bush fires. Their lives and homes are as valuable as humans. They too are sentient and need to be with their families.
