Proposal details
This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) for Miller Paving Limited to establish stormwater management works to service a proposed industrial manufacturing plant for collection, transmission, treatment and disposal of stormwater run-off from the lands located at 175 Bethridge Road, in the City of Toronto, Ontario.
The proposed stormwater management works include an underground storage tank, complete with storm sewers. Runoff generated on the site will be captured through a series of double catch basins and conveyed through 200-525 millimetre diameter storm sewers into a stormwater facility before ultimately discharging to the existing 600 millimetre culvert at the southeast corner of the site.
Storage is provided within the stormwater facility, proposed pipes and the structures for storm events up to the 100-year. Stormwater from the Site will be attenuated though an orifice tube into the Jellyfish Filter, and then discharged to the existing 600 millimetre culvert. Furthermore, stormwater runoff generated from the plant’s operation area, where there is potential contamination, will be conveyed overland to the water recycle facility.
The flows up to the major (100-year) storm event generated in the operation area will be contained/stored in the compartment of the water recycle facility and will be pumped back to the plant to be re-used for the plant operations. The grading and servicing have been designed in this manner to avoid discharging any contaminated stormwater off site.
