Excel Plating Inc. - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for a New Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) for Excel Plating Inc., operating a metal anodizing and electroplating processing plant, located in the City of Guelph, Ontario.

This application includes all emission sources from the facility that exhaust to the atmosphere including:

• one exhaust system consisting of an existing rooftop dome exhaust fan serving a fume hood over a heated Etch tank on the Aluminum anodizing line,
• a slot exhaust fume extractor (hood) for the heated Black Oxide tank on the steel electroplating line, and
• two general open ended branch ducts used primarily for heat.

Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:

• sodium hydroxide,
• particulate matter,
• sodium nitrite,
• hydrochloric acid,
• nitric acid, and
• sulphuric acid
