This proposal is to amend the Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 9892-7SMTLX for Lafarge Canada Inc., a ready-mix concrete batching plant located in the City of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
This application is to reflect upgrades to five dust collectors, one natural gas fired boiler, one natural gas fired comfort heating unit, and one aggregate depot.
The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include stockpiles, aggregate conveying, aggregate depots, baghouse dust collectors, silos, material handling, boilers, comfort heating units, and the delivery, storage, and handling of materials associated with concrete batching operations. Contaminant emissions to the air from this facility include:
- particulate matter
- respirable crystalline silica
- portland cement
- slag
- nitrogen oxides
- noise
