Bill 5 would allow the government to put regulations in place to create zones where “trusted proponents” and “designated projects” are exempt from provincial and municipal rules. The Ring of Fire is identified as one of these zones.

I oppose Bill 5 on the grounds that it guts environmental protections for endangered species, farmland and forests. While I agree we need to fast track affordable housing, there is no need to destroy our beautiful nature to do this.
