Removing requirements for wind studies does not make sense. Anyone who has walked near Bloor-Yonge, or King-Bay in Toronto on a windy day, can talk not only about inordinate, unpleasant winds, but unsafe ones, blowing debris around, including into one's eyes. Its exceedingly unpleasant. Read more

I strongly object to the passing of Bill 17. It will strip municipalities of too much of their power to plan and guide development in a way that puts their resident's best long term interests first. We agree on the need for more housing,. nd for the housing that exists to be more affordable. Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 17 as it poses a significant threat to the future of our green infrastructure industry. If passed, this measure would dismantle essential safeguards, obstruct economic growth, and compromise environmental stability. Read more

City residents deserve safe communities. Shadow studies, wind studies, and exterior lighting plans are necessary for both new and existing residents to get sunshine, walk outside comfortably, and feel secure at night. Stop micromanaging municipal governments!

I have many concerns about Bill 17. As a physician and a mother, I think this Bill needs to be heavily revised to promote a healthy future for Ontarians - one that maintains our high quality of life but also our clean air, water, and a safe climate. Read more

The proposed changes to the Planning Act may lead to increased profits or faster construction - though that is still speculative and yet to be demonstrated through evidence. What it will not do is contribute to a livable urban areas. I live, work, and conduct research on urban history in Toronto. Read more
