This is terrible, as a lifelong Ontario resident I urge you to reconsider the removal of endangered species protections. Canada is a beautiful country with so much nature, we ought to protect it with everything we have.
I strongly disagree with any act that could harm or weaken protections for endangered species. While supporting economic growth is important, it should never come at the expense of organisms that are already vulnerable or at risk of extinction.

I do not support this proposal. Rather than significantly weakening protections for species at risk, this government should be safeguarding biodiversity, respecting Indigenous rights and ensuring local communities benefit from the ecosystem services that nature freely provides.

This proposal could prove catastrophic to our province’s species at risk. By removing their protections, their populations soil be irreversibly damaged, causing a greater collapse in the ecosystems of Ontario. This will greatly impact Ontarian citizens, and this damage cannot be undone.

I am an Ontario resident and I oppose these changes. Repeal bill 5. Restore protections for nature. Back off the endangered species list. This is important for a wide variety of reasons.
I am a masters student studying environmental science at the University of Guelph, ON and am appalled at the proposed amendments to the species at risk ask. The provincial and federal governments continue to disregard the utmost importance of protecting Ontario’s ecological systems.
