I have very grave concerns about Bill 5. I protested before it was passed, and its passing has not eased my distress. The changes it enables will be very deleterious to the environment, and we really can't afford any more damage to the natural world. Read more

The idea that Ontario can flourish while trampling our environment, including watersheds, green spaces, and wildlife, is incredibly wrong, misguided and dangerous. If we destroy the environment, we destroy our future, full stop. Read more

I am not in favor of weakening or reducing environmental protections or removing indigenous consultation. Scientific evidence, not political convenience, should be the guiding principle for decision making, particularly with respect to the list of protected species. Read more

I do not support this proposal. Rather than significantly weakening protections for species at risk, this government should be safeguarding biodiversity, respecting Indigenous rights and ensuring local communities benefit from the ecosystem services that nature freely provides. Read more

This is such a regression in legislation that it is hard to put into words. Forgive the lack of evidence but all that truly comes to mind is the stanza from our national anthem “O Canada, we stand on guard for the”. That includes all the 106 creatures you’re going to affect. Read more

I an firmly against bill 5. We should be protecting our endanger species. Not making it easier for rich men to bulldoze away our protected species and lands just so they can make a profit. Rich men helping rich men will only ruin our province.
