Proposal details

This proposal is to amend Environmental Compliance Approval (waste disposal site) No. 6335-6FBNK7, issued to Greenflow Environmental Services Inc. for a solid, non-hazardous municipal waste facility on a site that is 0.67 hectares in area, located in the City of Hamilton, Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth.

This proposal seeks an expansion of operations to manage both hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste streams. Key operations include the treatment of biomedical waste by sterilization, corrosive waste neutralization, solvent recovery through distillation, fuel blending and wastewater treatment.

Non-hazardous industrial waste processing will include liquid waste solidification using a Maxcrete mixing unit, or by solidification in lined pits and sorting/compacting of non-hazardous solids. The processed waste may be recycled, sold, or landfilled at a Ministry-approved landfill site.

Daily throughput capacity will be increased from 200 tonnes to 500 tonnes per day total with a maximum on-site storage capacity of 500 tonnes (100 tonnes hazardous waste; 400 tonnes non-hazardous solid and liquid industrial waste).

The hours of operation are 7:00–21:00, Monday–Saturday (excluding holidays). The facility serves North America.
