Proposal details
This proposal is to amend Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 6254-9LVQ3V issued to Imperial Oil Limited Company, for a refining and petrochemical manufacturing facility located at 602 Christina Street South, Sarnia.
The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include:
- crude distillation and conversion
- hydrogen treating and production
- hydrocarbon fractionation, cracking, separation, extraction
- desulphurization
- sulphur recovery
- polymerization
- catalyst manufacturing
- steam generation
- electricity generation
- product blending, storage, transfer and loading
- wastewater treatment
- landfarming; and
- research and laboratory operations
This amendment is for an installation of a caustic wet gas scrubber and an increase in sulphur recovery capacity.
Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:
- benzene
- chromium
- nickel, and
- zinc
