Proposal details
On September 9, 2026, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing received for a decision the Town of Ajax proposed official plan amendment No. 99 (By-law 68-2026), which was adopted by the Town’s municipal council on June 22, 2026, pursuant to sections 17 and 26 of the Planning Act.
The proposed official plan amendment contains land use policies to support implementation of a Protected Major Transit Station Area (PMTSA) in the Town of Ajax. If approved, the proposed amendment would apply to all lands within the PMTSA.
The Ministry will review the amendment for consistency with applicable provincial policies and conformity with provincial plans and will consider all comments received before presenting any potential modifications to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing for a decision in accordance with sections 17 and 26 of the Planning Act.
Pursuant to subsections 17(36.5) and (38.1) of the Planning Act, the decision of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to approve an official plan amendment adopted in accordance with section 26 is final and not subject to appeal.
