Through Bill 23, the More Homes Built Faster Act, amendments have been made to the Planning Act and the Development Charges Act, 1997 to reduce municipal development-related charges. These changes will help the government achieve its goal of building 1.5 million homes over the next ten years.

The government has made changes to the Planning Act and City of Toronto Act to support increasing housing supply and streamlining planning approvals.

We have amended three producer responsibility regulations made under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016. These changes reduce or remove burden, correct market issues, increase transparency, align administrative and technical provisions between the regulations and remove old provisions.

We finalized a new regulation that will allow the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority to issue administrative penalties for not abiding by the provisions in the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 and specified regulations.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 8774-CJWQE8 on December 15, 2022 for Richmond Churchill Developments Inc. Water will be taken from two ponds for construction dewatering and groundwater remediation purposes located in the City of Ottawa. This new permit expires on December 15, 2027.

We have issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) to Shirley Ann Johnson for subsurface sewage disposal works.

A Permit to Take Water was not issued. The application was withdrawn at the request of the applicant.

We issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) for Cyclone Manufacturing Incorporated, an aerospace parts manufacturing facility, located at 2225 Meadowpine Boulevard in the City of Mississauga, Ontario.

The applicant had not responded to additional information requests by the deadline imposed, as a result the application has been cancelled.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. P-300-2190808759 on December 14, 2022 for St. Marys Cement Inc. (Canada) for manufacturing purposes. Water will be taken from one well for manufacturing purposes located in the City of Ottawa, Ontario. The new permit expires on December 13, 2032.

The application was withdrawn by the proponent. No approval was issued.

We have amended the Rondeau Provincial Park Management Plan to enable an extension of existing leases for cottage lots in Rondeau Provincial Park for an additional two-year period, until December 31, 2024.

Approval was granted for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) for J. Harrison Excavating and Pipeline Ltd. for the operation of a mobile screening plant, equipped with one screener, a front end loader, a conveyor, and an associated diesel engine.

A decision was made on December 9, 2022 to approve the entire official plan for the Township of Dorion with four (4) modifications.

We have amended the Emissions Performance Standards (EPS) program to meet the federal benchmark and extend it through the 2023 to 2030 period. Complementary amendments to the reporting program were also made.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 0351-CLVLEP on December 8, 2022, which cancels and replaces permit No. 7382-923RM9, for Capital Paving Inc. for industrial purposes. The permitted water taking will serve the Capital Paving Wellington Pit aggregate operation in the Township of Puslinch, Ontario. The new permit expires December 8, 2032.

The ministry amended and renewed an Environmental Compliance Approval (waste site) for a hauled sewage disposal site as described in this notice.

A Permit to Take Water was renewed for The National Golf Club of Canada (permit No. 4603-CLGSY2) on December 12, 2022, for 10 years. Water will be taken from one well for golf course irrigation purposes, located in the City of Vaughan, Ontario.

Approval was granted for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) for J. Harrison Excavating and Pipeline Ltd. for the operation of a mobile crushing plant, equipped with one crusher, a front end loader, a conveyor, and associated diesel engines.
