The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing is transferring jurisdiction over regional roads and associated stormwater infrastructure; and aligning with a locally developed solution, to transfer jurisdiction over waste collection services from Peel Region to Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon.

We have amended the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016. These changes enable Ontario’s producer responsibility framework to be more responsive to the needs of business and allow government to assess the effectiveness of any future changes to the framework.

A decision was made on December 16, 2025 to approve, with fourteen modifications, City of Waterloo Official Plan Amendment 58, as adopted by By-law 2024-097. Official Plan Amendment 58 updates policies and schedules to comply with the Planning Act and be consistent with the Provincial Planning Statement, 2024 (PPS).

A decision was made on November 18, 2025 to approve, with modifications, Amendment No. 2 to the Northumberland County Official Plan adopted by By-law 13-2025. The approved amendment updates growth management policies and certain land use designations for the Northumberland County Official Plan.

Permit to Take Water No. 1728-DLNP6Y has been issued to Markdale Golf & Curling Club Inc., for golf course irrigation purposes. Water will be taken from one pond, located in the community of Markdale in the Municipality of Grey Highlands, Ontario.

We issued an Amended Environmental Compliance Approval (air) with Limited Operational Flexibility to BASF Canada Inc.

A decision was made on October 27, 2025 to approve the City of Kitchener Official Plan Amendment 42, as adopted by By-law 2024-019. Official Plan Amendment 42 proposes to revise policy 15.D.12.41 c) of the City’s Official Plan to permit a warehouse use for the lands municipally known as 485 Huron Road.

A decision was made on October 27, 2025, to approve the City of Kitchener Official Plan Amendment 45, as adopted by By-law 2024-057. The amendment modifies Site-Specific Policy 15.D.12.40 to permit a maximum height of 24 storeys on lands designated 'Mixed Use' at the southwest corner of Huron Road and Strasburg Road.

A decision was made on October 27, 2025, to approve the City of Kitchener Official Plan Amendment 59, as adopted by By- law 2024-212. The Official Plan Amendment 59 proposes to modify the implementation date for Inclusionary Zoning policies within Protected Major Transit Station Areas, changing it from January 1, 2025, to January 1, 2026.

Permit to Take Water No. 3665-DMBK2U has been issued to BRCP Assets 6 Incorporated renewing Permit to Take Water No. 2375-9N5NCJ for golf course irrigation purposes. Water will be taken from three ponds and four wells, located in the Township of Tiny, Ontario.

Permit to Take Water No. 4662-DMGJWW was issued to Walker Aggregates Inc. on October 21, 2022. Water will be taken from two ponds, located in the Township of Chatsworth, Ontario, for industrial aggregate washing purposes.

Permit to Take Water No. P-300-7354450466 has been issued to TCU Development Corporation, for construction dewatering purposes. Water will be taken from two ponds, located in Ottawa, Ontario.

Approval was granted to 756949 Ontario Ltd. For a new Environmental Compliance Approval for sewage works serving 11 Dausett Drive and 22428 Jefferies Road, Middlesex Centre, Ontario (Portion of Block 60 of the Kilworth Subdivision).

An Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) was issued to GFL Renewables Inc. for the operation of a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) plant, located in the Town of North Stormont, Ontario.

An amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval (air and noise) No. 8583-B9ZRZ8 was issued to GFL Environmental Inc, operating a landfill site located in the City of North Stormont, Ontario.
