The Minister has identified 29 provincially significant employment zones that receive enhanced protection under A Place to Grow. Based on feedback, the Ministry has corrected any technical errors to the boundaries for zones and issued revised maps to be used in the Plan’s implementation but will still consider requests to review the zones.
The Minister of Small Business and Red Tape Reduction has introduced the Supporting Recovery and Competitiveness Act to reduce the number of regulations and cost of doing business in the province. Some measures will immediately help businesses to weather the impacts of COVID-19 while others will lay the groundwork for continued economic recovery.

Building Better Lives: Ontario’s Long-Term Infrastructure Plan, 2017 (“LTIP 2017”) was released on November 28, 2017. The 2017 Plan set out the previous government’s vision for infrastructure planning and investment in Ontario.
On June 1, 2020, the government implemented a flat COVID-19 Recovery Rate of 12.8 ¢/kWh for all Regulated Price Plan (RPP) Time-of-Use (TOU) electricity customers. The government intends that RPP TOU customers will be charged this flat rate for all periods of the day, seven days a week, until October 31, 2020.
