We have granted an approval for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (Industrial Sewage) to 10647802 for 10 mobile sewage facilities (holding tanks) to be used anywhere within the Province of Ontario.
We decided to proceed with ending acetone reporting in Ontario. This will align us with the federal government and other provinces that have not required acetone release reporting since 1998 and reduce burden for business without compromising protection of human health and the environment.

An approval for stormwater works was granted to Geosoil Inc. located at 953 Wilson Avenue in the City of Toronto, within a mixed-use commercial, industrial, and residential area. The property covers an area of approx. 1.60 ha and currently consists of an existing contractor’s yard used to stockpile soil and aggregates for manufacturing operations.
We issued an approval to GFL Environmental Inc. for the use and operation of a waste disposal site, located at 84 Smelter Road, to be used for the transfer and processing of solid non-hazardous waste including construction and demolition waste, mixed waste, and recyclables.
We are proposing to extend the expiry date for Environmental Assessment Act approvals by 10 years for certain projects once the relevant amendments to the Act come into effect. This extension will allow the projects to proceed (subject to any other permits and approvals required) instead of requiring a new environmental assessment to be completed.
A decision has been made to proceed with the design of a legislative framework for commercial-scale geologic carbon storage in Ontario that would enable the development of technology-ready commercial-scale projects and the continued testing and demonstration of newer carbon storage technologies.
