A decision was made to approve a site-specific amendment to remove certain lands in the Town of Oakville from the Parkway Belt West Plan (PBWP) and the associated Minister's Zoning Order (MZO), filed as Ontario Regulation 481/73.
The PBWP amendment is approved as amendment No. 245 and the MZO amendment is filed as Ontario Regulation 253/25.
The Smiths Falls Golf and Country Club, Limited requested to withdraw their application for a permit to take water (PTTW) for golf course irrigation and water supply purposes. The application is considered withdrawn and no permit was issued.
We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 6047-CHMR86 on September 7, 2022, which cancels and replaces Permit to Take Water No. 3185-AU8GBH, for The Heights of Horseshoe Ski and Country Club. An Environmental Compliance Approval (waste site) 20-KEN-82275 for Asselin Transportation and Storage Ltd. was issued on November 24, 2020 for a hauled sewage site in the Township of Fleming, Ontario.
The Minister has approved amendments to the Severn Sound and Nottawasaga Valley assessment reports and associated South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe Source Protection Plan. The amendments update vulnerable area mapping associated with two municipal drinking water wells in the Craighurst and Horseshoe Highlands drinking water systems within Oro-Medonte.
The environmental assessment requirements for the York1 waste disposal site project were removed with the Royal Assent of the Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025, on June 5, 2025, to help provide additional waste capacity in Ontario.
We are proposing to extend the expiry date for Environmental Assessment Act approvals by 10 years for certain projects once the relevant amendments to the Act come into effect. This extension will allow the projects to proceed (subject to any other permits and approvals required) instead of requiring a new environmental assessment to be completed.

We have issued a Renewable Energy Approval to the Town of Petawawa to retrofit an existing water treatment facility to help them turn waste into energy. They will use a process called anaerobic digestion to break down waste and create biogas. This biogas will be used to generate electricity.

Bill 60, the Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, 2025, passed Third Reading, which amends section 53 of the Ontario Water Resources Act to exempt certain sewage systems on a single agricultural property servicing on-farm worker housing, up to 50,000 litres per day cumulatively, from requiring a sewage works environmental compliance approval.
