Approval was granted for a licence amendment to allow Dufferin Aggregates, operating in the County of Brant to increase the number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed annually for Licence No. 5601, from 997,700 to 2,000,000.
We are proposing changes to recreational fishing rules to provide clarity on when anglers can photograph, measure, and weigh fish before they are released.
A decision has been made to implement an automatic financial penalty as part of a graduated penalty approach for hunters who fail to submit their mandatory hunter report(s). This penalty is an additional tool to promote hunter reporting compliance and improve reporting data used to make wildlife management decisions.
We have made two changes to the boundary of Killbear Provincial Park. We added a large parcel of land to protect a variety of wetlands and Massassauga rattlesnake habitat, and we removed a small area to resolve an encroachment by the Township of Carling’s landfill site.
