A new aggregate licence was issued to Giofam Investments Inc. to remove aggregate from a quarry below the water table in the Township of Dalton. The licence allows the operator to excavate 200,000 tonnes per calendar year.
We have made two changes to the boundary of Killbear Provincial Park. We added a large parcel of land to protect a variety of wetlands and Massassauga rattlesnake habitat, and we removed a small area to resolve an encroachment by the Township of Carling’s landfill site.

An aggregate licence (#625939) was issued to 356119 Ontario Ltd. (Ken Miller Excavating) to excavate aggregate material from a new pit operation 8.48 hectares in size. The annual tonnage is up to 20,000 tonnes.
A decision has been made to implement an automatic financial penalty as part of a graduated penalty approach for hunters who fail to submit their mandatory hunter report(s). This penalty is an additional tool to promote hunter reporting compliance and improve reporting data used to make wildlife management decisions.
