The environmental assessment requirements for the York1 waste disposal site project were removed with the Royal Assent of the Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025, on June 5, 2025, to help provide additional waste capacity in Ontario.

A decision was made on October 27, 2025 to approve the City of Kitchener Official Plan Amendment 42, as adopted by By-law 2024-019. Official Plan Amendment 42 proposes to revise policy 15.D.12.41 c) of the City’s Official Plan to permit a warehouse use for the lands municipally known as 485 Huron Road.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. P-300-1918240092 on September 13, 2022 to Minto (3526 Lakeshore) Inc. Water will be taken for long term dewatering in the City of Toronto, Ontario. The new permit expires on August 13, 2023.

This decision is for a new Permit to Take Water. Permit to Take Water No. 4244-C23K7J was issued to The Hedbern Development Corp. on April 14, 2021 for dewatering purposes in the Township of Springwater, Ontario. The permit expires on March 14, 2022.

We have issued a director’s order to Algoma Steel Inc. requiring them to apply for new site-specific standards for air emissions for their Sault Ste. Marie facility by March 31, 2022.

A new Permit to Take Water No. 3407-BPDMK5 has been issued to North Leslie Residential Landowners Group Inc. on June 11, 2020 for dewatering purposes located in Richmond Hill, Ontario. The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of December 31, 2021.

A decision was made on December 12, 2023, to approve the City of Toronto Official Plan Amendment 591, as adopted by By-law 1106-2022 without modification. Official Plan Amendment 591 outlines policy and mapping changes related to employment, including employment conversions

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. P-300-2224735416 on August 15, 2023 for Homestead Land Holdings Limited in the City of Ottawa, Ontario for the purposes of construction. The new permit expires on January 10, 2025.

A decision was made on October 27, 2025, to approve the City of Kitchener Official Plan Amendment 45, as adopted by By-law 2024-057. The amendment modifies Site-Specific Policy 15.D.12.40 to permit a maximum height of 24 storeys on lands designated 'Mixed Use' at the southwest corner of Huron Road and Strasburg Road.

This decision is to renew and consolidate three Permits to Take Water for Enbridge Pipelines Inc., for construction dewatering purposes within the Municipality of Southwestern Ontario. Permit No. 5660-CAKR62 was issued on January 27, 2022 with an expiry date of December 31, 2021.

We have issued Permit to Take Water No. 4527-CJAQLE on September 19, 2022 for 12052229 Canada Inc. Water will be taken from one pond for construction dewatering purposes, located in the City of Ottawa, Ontario. The new permit expires on September 19, 2027.

A new PTTW 0176-CCF4LP has been issued to Claridge Homes (Hintonburg Yards) Inc. on March 22, 2022 for construction dewatering located in the City of Ottawa, Ontario. The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of March 22, 2025.

This decision is for a new Permit to Take Water. Permit to Take Water No. 8321-C2KQY4 was issued on April 30, 2021 to Mattamy (Danforth) Limited for the purpose of construction dewatering in the City of Toronto. The permit expires on July 31, 2022.

A decision was made on October 22, 2025 to approve, with modifications, the Town of Caledon Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 2024-014.  The approved Caledon Official Plan outlines a comprehensive framework of new and revised policies to guide growth and development to 2051.
