In September 2019, we consulted on a draft proposal entitled ‘Ontario’s Sustainable Bait Management Strategy’. The draft proposed a new approach to bait management in Ontario by addressing the movement of bait across the province. We have decided to move forward with implementation of the policy, with some modifications.

An aggregate licence was issued to Dufferin Aggregates to make changes to the conditions of their licence to operate the Flamboro Quarry.  The annual tonnage is 3.5 million tonnes and the licenced site operates in Township of West Flamborough, City of Hamilton.

The application submitted by L82 Construction Limited to amend their site plan has been approved.

Barbara Sersion application has been approved for a Class A licence to extract aggregate from a pit or quarry.

Approval was granted for a site plan amendment to allow 1559300 Ontario Limited to amend the current site plan to allow 21,120,000 cubic meters of excess soil to be imported to return the site to the original grade in the Township of Darlington.

Approval was granted for a licence amendment to allow GIP Properties Corp. to temporarily increase the number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed annually for Licence No. 5758, operating in the Township of North Glengarry, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry United Counties.

Approval was granted for a site plan amendment to allow 1094490 Ontario Limited. to change the final depth of extraction in a portion of the site from above the water table to below the water table in the Township of Uxbridge.

Approval was granted for a site plan amendment to allow Stephens and Company Glencairn Limited to adjust the final grades to improve the agricultural capability of the site post extraction in the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio.

Fairgate (Ninth Line) Inc. application for a permit for activities with conditions to achieve overall benefit to the species under the Endangered Species Act clause 17(2)(c) has been approved.
