Schedule 10 of Bill 66, the proposed Restoring Ontario’s Competitiveness Act, 2018, was removed from the Bill following a vote by members of the Standing Committee on General Government. As a result, the government is no longer proposing to make a regulation to help implement an open-for-business planning by-law.

Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) is proposing updates to three aggregate resources policies and the development of one new policy (under the ARA), to align with previous changes to the ARA, regulation, and the Aggregate Resources of Ontario: Standards. We are also proposing to rescind 28 policies which are outdated and no longer applicable.

The Ministry is proposing to issue a permit to Pacton Gold Inc. to undertake early exploration activities. The location of the activities is 8 km southeast of Red Lake ON.
We are proposing amendments to the Environmental Assessment Act through the proposed Protecting Ontario’s Workers and Economic Resilience Act, 2026. These changes would improve the comprehensive environmental assessment process by removing certain steps while maintaining strong environmental protections and other opportunities for consultation.

On February 24, 2023, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed an amendment to the Zoning Order, Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 446/20, made pursuant to the clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as O. Reg. 27/23. The Town of Oakville requested that the Minister consider amending the Zoning Order.
On October 22, 2020, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order, made pursuant to section 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 596/20 to facilitate the development of housing on lands known municipally as 373 Front Street East and 90 Mill Street, City of Toronto.

The government has made changes that restore the 15 areas of land that were redesignated or removed from the Greenbelt in December 2022. The Greenbelt Statute Law Amendment Act, 2023 also ensures that any future changes to the Greenbelt boundary can only be made through legislation.
We are proposing to expand the boundary of Bigwind Lake Provincial Park, located approximately 20 kilometres east of Bracebridge. Expanding this park would provide long-term protection and enhanced opportunities for recreational activities, such as hiking and backcountry camping.
On January 28, 2022, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation 41/22. The Township of Oro Medonte requested that the Minister consider making the Zoning Order.
