A new PTTW no. 7342-C38UK3 has been issued to Vicdom Sand & Gravel (Ontario) Limited on May 26, 2021 for he purpose of industrial operations of aggregate washing at the Boundary Road Pit located in the Township of Manvers, City of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of May 25, 2031.

Livingston Excavating and Trucking Inc. was issued a licence to operate a pit below the water table to extract aggregate in the County of Norfolk.

The Minister has issued an overall benefit permit to The City of Richmond Hill to improve the Beaver Creek Stormwater Management Facility. This activity may adversely impact all four species at risk bats. The permit includes actions to benefit the species and minimize adverse effects.

A.L. Blair Construction Limited was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a quarry in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.

Licensee was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a quarry in the Municipality of Dysart et al.

The Mining Act was amended to enable regulations to establish a “permit by rule” model, allowing claim holders to sell the end product of a bulk sample and retain proceeds, provided that certain conditions are met.  There are no anticipated environmental impacts associated with this decision.

Ontario is implementing a temporary suspension of certain provisions in the Excess Soil Regulation that came into effect January 1, 2022, until January 1, 2023. The pause will provide more time to understand the provisions and refine their implementation.

A decision was made on July 7, 2023 to approve Official Plan Amendment No. 3 (OPA 3) to the Official Plan for the County of Middlesex with 17 modifications. The official plan amendment, as modified, is consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement and conforms with provincial plans.

A decision was made on September 25, 2025 to modify and approve , the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 2024-057. A decision has been withheld on part of the Official Plan. The approved new official plan outlines a comprehensive framework of new and revised policies to guide growth and development in the town.

1851477 Ontario Inc. was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a quarry in the Municipality of East Ferris.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing is revoking the Central Pickering Development Plan, pursuant to subsection 4(8) of the Ontario Planning and Development Act, 1994.

We reviewed the Endangered Species Act, 2007 to improve protections for species at risk, consider modern and innovative approaches to achieve positive outcomes for species at risk, streamline approvals and provide clarity to support economic development. As a result of the review, we are proceeding with proposing amendments to the act.
