On February 6, 2023, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing posted to the Environmental Registry a proposal for a new Minister’s regulation under the Planning Act that would require 29 municipalities in Ontario to report data on planning matters on a quarterly and annual basis. The Ministry decided to proceed with the Minister’s regulation.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on October 7, 2022 in respect of Application 52-C-207616 to sever two existing recreational dwellings for seasonal recreational purposes, in Cascaden unincorporated township, District of Sudbury. The ministry has issued direction that would allow for the disposal of contaminated groundwater in the New Liskeard Lagoons sewage treatment system. The contaminated groundwater was encountered during the excavation of soil for the replacement of a culvert located at Calamity Creek on Highway 11.

An amending regulation under the Planning Act was filed on March 5, 2018 and came into force on April 3, 2018. Water will be taken from two ponds and two wells related to golf course irrigation activities, located in the Town of LaSalle, County of Essex, Ontario. Permit to Take Water No. P-300-1105467667 was issued April 14, 2021 for a period of five years.
