A new Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) was issued to The Sarjeant Company Limited for the establishment of sewage works, to service proposed Waverley Heights Subdivision, for the management of stormwater run-off from land legally described as Part of Lot 76, Concession 1 in the Township of Tay, Ontario.

A new regulation has been made under the Environmental Assessment Act (EAA) that sets out requirements Hydro One Networks Inc. (Hydro One) will need to undertake to proceed with the Northeast Power Line Project (Project) and for the EAA not to apply to the Project. Hydro One is collaborating with a consortium of First Nations partners.

The ministry sought feedback on any planning matters that should be addressed through a transition regulation, under the Planning Act for the Provincial Planning Statement (PPS 2024). The Minister reviewed the feedback and decided no matters required transition for PPS 2024 and will not be prescribing any matters by regulation.

A decision was made on March 16, 2026, to modify and approve, the Town of Whitby Official Plan Amendment 138. The approved Official Plan Amendment 138 delineates and plans for the Whitby GO Protected Major Transit Station Area.   

We have finalized the policy objectives to help ensure the long-term environmental sustainability of commercial-scale cage aquaculture operations (culture of fish in net cages floating in open waters) in the province.

We have updated some of the values found in Table 1 and Table 2 of the Nutrient Management Tables, part of the Nutrient Management Protocol, incorporated by reference into O. Reg. 267/03 made under the Nutrient Management Act, 2002. These changes ensure that the values in these Tables remain up-to-date and reflect current industry practices.

The ministry has amended existing Environmental Compliance Approval No. 7929-CQYQWU issued to American Iron and Metal Company Inc. to reflect as-built conditions of industrial stormwater management works servicing 139 Steel City Court, located in the City of Hamilton, Ontario.

This approval is granted for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (industrial sewage), issued to Vineland Research and Innovation Centre, for the establishment of sewage works as part of a proposed Tree Culture Research Park development, located at 4890 Victoria North in Lincoln, Ontario.

The government has released A Place to Grow which replaces the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, 2017. Changes to O. Reg. 525/97 ensure the Minister’s approval is required for official plan amendments that implement provincial mapping for the Agricultural System for the Greater Golden Horseshoe and Natural Heritage System for the Plan.

The ministry has issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval for the establishment of a class A holding tank sewage works rated at 1,100 lires per day, to service a cottage located at 43 Third Line Road, in the Township of Centre Wellington.

Ontario has made changes to the Planning Act, City of Toronto Act, 2006 and Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing Act to support increasing housing supply and streamlining planning processes.

Approval was granted for a licence amendment to allow the licensees, operating in the Municipality of South Bruce, to increase the maximum number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed from the site in each calendar year.

A decision was made to approve an amendment to the Niagara Escarpment Plan to allow for a site-specific change to the Land Use Designation of the subject property from Mineral Resource Extraction Area to Escarpment Natural Area and Escarpment Protection Area.
