Following the receipt of a privately initiated application, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing is consulting on the proposed amendment to the Minister’s Zoning Order, filed as Ontario Regulation 482/73, for lands municipally known as 5244 1 Sideroad in the City of Burlington, Halton Region.
The ministry has issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval to Walker BESS 4 Inc. for the establisment of stormwater management works and spill containment works servicing the proposed Almonte BESS 1 and Almonte BESS 2 lithium-ion battery storage facilities on a site located at 6299 County Road 29, in the Township of Mississippi Mills.

We are extending the current moratorium on new or increased permits to take groundwater to produce bottled water for up to 6 months, to April 1, 2021. This extension gives us time to thoroughly consider the feedback we received and further engage on how we can implement our proposed enhancements to Ontario’s water taking program.
