This amendment to Permit to Take Water No. 0431-8WPJLB for Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. (previously Detour Gold Corporation) to increase the water taking and days for industrial purposes was issued on June 3, 2021 under Permit to Take Water No. 6277-C2NNZ5 for Kirkland Lake Gold.

A new regulation and regulation changes under the Planning Act were filed on August 29, 2019 and came into force on September 3, 2019. The changes are needed to facilitate implementation of the changes to the Planning Act made by Schedule 12 of the More Homes, More Choice Act, 2019.

A Permit to Take Water No. 0426-CUANVK was issued to amend Permit to Take Water No. 3614-B56KY8 for The Barrie Country Club, Limited for 3 years. Water will be taken from one watercourse, one pond, and one well to satisfy irrigation and operational needs in Barrie, Ontario.

We have issued an amended Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) to 2843249 Ontario Inc. for the establishment of sewage works for the treatment and subsurface disposal of domestic sewage, to service Racine Lake seasonal campground, located on Lot 9, Concession 3, Unorganized Township of Racine, Chapleau, Ontario, P0M 1K0.

This application was for the renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 7424-7ZXM63 for golf course irrigation purposes. Water will be taken from one (1) river and one (1) pond. Permit No. 5167-BQ7QGT was issued on June 3, 2020 for a period of 10 years.

Permit to Take Water was issued to Greenwood Construction Company Limited on July 3, 2024, to renew Permit to Take Water No. P-300-1190188874. Water will be taken from two ponds for aggregate washing purposes, located in the Township of East Garafraxa, Ontario for 9 years.

A decision was made on June 3, 2025 to approve, with modifications, the new Municipality of Neebing Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 2022-029. The approved new Municipality of Neebing Official Plan outlines a comprehensive framework of new and revised policies to guide growth and development.

In accordance with the Pesticides Act, Beauveria bassiana strain CFL-A has been added to the list of Active Ingredients Authorized for Cosmetic Uses (Allowable List).

An individual landowner has withdrawn their application for the conversion of a managed wetland into agricultural land in Dover Centre, Chatham-Kent County, Ontario that would affect Eastern Foxsnake (Carolinian population) and Blanding’s Turtle. As a result, no decision was made and no permit was issued.

We proceeded with our proposal for the new Assessment Work and Mining Claims Regulations. These revoked former regulations and set out new rules in dealing with mining claims and reporting assessment work. This reflects the changes made in Mining Act Modernization (MAM) Phase 3, and the new mining lands administration system (MLAS).

A new Permit to Take Water No. 5573-BMVGVE has been issued to Rideau Lakes Golf and Country Club on April 5, 2020 for commercial and water supply purposes, located in the Township of Rideau Lakes, Ontario. The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of April 3, 2030.

We have issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval (Air & Noise) to Aberfoyle Metal Treaters Ltd., a metal heat-treating, blasting, and coating facility located in the Township of Puslinch, Ontario, to amend Environmental Compliance Approval No. 9674-6K2KNT, issued March 3, 2006 to update the emission sources at their facility.

A decision was made on August 15th, 2025, to modify and approve (in part) the City of Toronto Official Plan Amendment 544, as adopted by By-law 845-2022. A decision has been withheld on part of the amendment. The approved Official Plan Amendment 544 establishes three (3) major transit station areas and six (6) protected major transit station areas.

Approval for the establishment of industrial stormwater management Works to serve an industrial land for the Tempo Flexible Packaging Inc., for the collection, transmission, treatment and disposal of stormwater runoff from a total catchment area of approximately 3 hectares, to provide Enhanced Level water quality protection and erosion control.

Amendments to the Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Act enable the ministry to act directly to reduce risks from hazardous wells when an operator is non-compliant and deceased, insolvent, or bankrupt. These changes were part of the Resource Management and Safety Act, 2025 and took effect on December 3, 2025.

Bill 66, Restoring Ontario’s Competitiveness Act, 2019, received Royal Assent on April 3, 2019. This Act is the second bill implementing Ontario’s Open for Business Action Plan to stimulate business investment, create good jobs, and make Ontario more competitive by cutting unnecessary regulations that are inefficient, inflexible or out of date. 

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 6615-C6GTRT on September 3, 2021, which cancels and replaces Permit to take Water No. 0072-BFQMK8, for Kanata North Landowners Group Inc. located in Ottawa, Ontario.

The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of September 7, 2025.

The Permit to Take Water No. 3167-D4SN9K was issued to Lafarge Canada Inc. on May 3, 2024, to renew the permit 7580-9GQJUL. Water will be taken from one quarry sump for dewatering and aggregate washing purposes at the Nolan Quarry, located in Clarence-Rockland, United Counties of Prescott and Russell, Ontario.

We have issued an Environmental Compliance Approval for the upgrades to the existing works for the treatment and subsurface disposal of domestic sewage to service Fiddlehead Resort Camp, consisting of 46 trailer sites, comfort station, 3-bedroom dwelling, and three cottages located at 50 Oliphant Way in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario.
