We have approved the minor amendment to the area-specific Crown land use policies for the Lac Seul General Use Area (G2518) and Red Lake General Use Area (G2514) to allow the potential sale of Crown land for the purposes of cottage lot development within the Township boundaries of the Township of Ear Falls.

The Province of Ontario has passed Bill 60, which introduces the Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, 2025, amending the Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act. The amendments support the implementation of harmonized road standards, including for municipal road construction.

In 2011, the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks and other ministries, decided not to pursue a regulatory approach on shoreline protection and implement programs for shoreline protection.
