We have approved the minor amendment to the area-specific Crown land use policies for the Lac Seul General Use Area (G2518) and Red Lake General Use Area (G2514) to allow the potential sale of Crown land for the purposes of cottage lot development within the Township boundaries of the Township of Ear Falls.

An Environmental Compliance Approval (waste site) 19-OWE-43440 for HT Dale Services was issued on May 3, 2019 for a hauled sewage site in Tuckersmith, Ontario.

Permit to Take Water No. 2406-BCGR8L was issued, which renews and replaces Permit to Take Water No. 6702-7LRS5R. The Permit was issued on May 27, 2019 with an expiry date of May 27, 2029.

We approved Certificate of Property Use No. 4655-BALNSG for Lovsuns Tunneling Canada Limited for 421, 431, 441 Carlingview Drive and 117 Disco Road in Toronto, as part of their development plans for the site.

The ministry is moving forward with amending regulations made under the Environmental Protection Act and the Ontario Water Resources Act to streamline permissions for certain low risk short-term water taking activities. These amendments align approval requirements with the activity’s level of risk, while maintaining environmental oversight.

Cruickshank Construction Limited has withdrawn this request and will not be moving forward with any changes to their site plan at this time and this proposal is considered closed.

Ontario Regulation 273/18, a regulation amending Ontario’s net metering regulation (O. Reg. 541/05: Net Metering) under the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998 has been revoked.

The amending regulations to the Building Code, O. Reg. 139/17, was filed on May 17, 2017 and O. Reg. 88/19, was filed on May 2, 2019. A Certificate of Property Use was issued to 2506045 Ontario Inc. for the property located at 210-220 King Street North in the City of Waterloo, on November 7, 2023.

An Environmental Compliance Approval (waste site) 19-NOR-97288 for Northern Disposal and Sanitation was issued on March 11, 2020 for a hauled sewage site in Emsdale, within the Township of Perry.

An amended Environmental Compliance Approval (Air & Noise) with Limited Operational Flexibility was issued to Honda of Canada Mfg, a vehicle and vehicular parts manufacturing facility located in Alliston, Town of New Tecumseth, Ontario.

The ministry issued a Certificate of Property Use to The Municipality of Central Elgin for their Port Stanley Harbour Lands, specifically the West Pier located in Port Stanley, Ontario.

An amended Environmental Compliance Approval has been issued for industrial sewage treatment works serving St. Clair Management Corporation, as general partner for and on behalf of St. Clair Power, L.P. located at 790 Petrolia Line, in Corunna, Ontario.

The Province of Ontario has passed Bill 60, which introduces the Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, 2025, amending the Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act. The amendments support the implementation of harmonized road standards, including for municipal road construction.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) sought input in 2023 on proposed policies for an integrated province-wide land use planning document. On April 10, 2024, MMAH released an updated proposed Provincial Planning Statement for public input. (ERO# 019-8462)

Certificate of Property Use (CPU) No. 3813-BGQJE5 for 250 Lawrence Avenue West and 219 Glengarry Avenue, Toronto was issued to Graywood 250 GP Inc. as part of their development plans for the site.

In 2011, the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks and other ministries, decided not to pursue a regulatory approach on shoreline protection and implement programs for shoreline protection. Shoreline protection projects are reported on through the Minister’s Annual Report on Lake Simcoe.
