This extension gives us time to thoroughly consider the feedback we received and further engage on how we can implement our proposed enhancements to Ontario’s water taking program.

We are moving forward with guidance to help enhance the management of water takings in areas where quantity is a concern and where there are competing demands for water. We are also revoking the interim guidance on water bottling renewals at the same time that the enhancements to Ontario’s water taking program will be put in place on April 1, 2021.

This proposal is for an amendment to existing Environmental Compliance Approval No. 1431-BTWRCL issued on October 22, 2020 for 102 Main Street. The purpose of this amendment is to request a change from the previously approved Norweco Modulair CR-90 treatment plant treating wastewater from the facility at 106 Main Street with five Ecoflo units.
In response to impacts from COVID-19, we are delaying implementation of requirements under the new Excess Soil Regulation from July 1, 2020 to January 1, 2021. We are also exempting municipalities and health care providers from filing a Record of Site Condition to develop a temporary health or residential facility for emergency situations.
