We are implementing regulatory changes related to the management of excess construction soil and redevelopment of brownfield sites. These changes will reduce soil management costs and promote brownfields redevelopment, while protecting human health and the environment.
After consideration of the feedback received on the proposal (019-6521), the Ministry is proposing to make amendments to O. Reg. 393/07 (Smart Metering Entity) to clarify the SME’s authority with respect to bi-directional smart metering data and to provide transition provisions with respect to SME exclusive authority until January 1, 2025.

An amendment has been made to the renewable energy approval for the Grimsby Anaerobic Digestion Site located at 424 Sobye Road in Grimsby in the Regional Municipality of Niagara. The amendment will allow the facility to accept new waste types and increased waste tonnage, and to build new infrastructure on site.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) is extending the 2004 Shebandowan Lake Management Plan, by three (3) years. The new expiration date for this plan will be July 1, 2027.
