A decision was made to approve a site-specific amendment to remove certain lands in the Town of Oakville from the Parkway Belt West Plan (PBWP) and the associated Minister's Zoning Order (MZO), filed as Ontario Regulation 481/73.
The PBWP amendment is approved as Amendment No. 234 and the MZO amendment is filed as Ontario Regulation 457/24.
On March 24, 2023, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed an amendment to the Zoning Order O. Reg. 771/21, made pursuant to clause 47(8) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as O. Reg. 54/23.

The construction and alteration of dams will continue to be regulated under existing provincial regulatory requirements and approval processes so that we can continue to protect lakes, rivers and waterways in Ontario.

We have made a minor amendment to the Environmental Assessment Act to make it clearer that the authority to amend a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) and a Class EA approval, includes changing the types (or classes) of projects that can follow a Class EA.

We made amendments to make it easier for energy-intensive facilities to substitute coal and petroleum coke with alternative low-carbon fuels and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
