A decision was made on April 6, 2022 to approve the entire official plan for the Township of Hornepayne with four (4) modifications.

The application has been cancelled because Designation Chatham-Kent Waste Disposal Regulation (O. Reg. 284/24) designated the project to which Part II.3 of the Environmental Assessment Act (EAA) will apply.

We have issued an amended Environmental Compliance Approval (waste disposal site) No. A371203 to Waste Management of Canada Corporation for the closed Richmond Landfill, to update the conditions in the Environmental Compliance Approval to reflect the current site situation.

The new Official Plan for the Sudbury East Planning Area, as adopted in April, 2023, was approved subject to 21 modifications on July 15, 2025.

The Minister has issued an overall benefit permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 to 11034936 Canada Inc. for construction activities that will impact Blanding’s Turtle, which is a species at risk. The permit includes actions to benefit the species and minimize adverse effects, and requires monitoring and reporting.

A decision was made on March 16, 2026, to approve Official Plan Amendment 139 without modifications. The approved Official Plan Amendment 139 facilitates revisions to the policies for the Town’s Strategic Growth Areas (SGAs) and Other Nodes and Corridors.  

The Minister has issued an overall benefit permit to the Ministry of Transportation concerning Little Brown Myotis, Northern Myotis and Tri-colored Bat and their habitats in order to accommodate the widening of Highway 400 between Kind Road and Lloydtown-Aurora Road. The permit includes actions to benefit the species and minimize adverse effects.

We have made the proposed Reid Road Reservoir Quarry subject to a project-specific environmental assessment process under the Environmental Assessment Act to ensure continued protection of the environment.

A decision was made on September 29, 2025, to approve, with modifications, the new Township of McGarry Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 2024-016. The approved new Township of McGarry Official Plan outlines a comprehensive framework of new and revised policies to guide growth and development.

An Environmental Compliance Approval (air and noise) has been granted to Vertex Environmental Inc. The facility undertakes soil remediation at sites throughout Ontario.

The Minister has issued an overall benefit permit to Piroli Construction Inc. for a development that will impact Butler’s Gartersnake and Eastern Foxsnake (Carolinian Population), which are Species at Risk.The permit includes actions to benefit the species, minimize adverse effects, and outlines monitoring and reporting requirements.

The ministry issued an Environmental Compliance Approval (waste site) for a hauled sewage disposal site as described in this notice.

The ministry has proceeded with issuance of the Certificate of Property Use (CPU) related to the property in Thunder Bay. The CPU specifies the risk management measures required for any future proposed development of the property. At this time, the current property owner is not proposing any development or a change in property use.

Ontario is continuing to ensure environmental protections are in place while simplifying self-registration requirements for small scale breweries.

No decision will be made at this time as the applicant has withdrawn their application for an Environmental Compliance Approval.
