A decision was made on September 25, 2025 to modify and approve , the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 2024-057. A decision has been withheld on part of the Official Plan. The approved new official plan outlines a comprehensive framework of new and revised policies to guide growth and development in the town.
We have approved updates to the Catfish Creek Assessment Report and the Source Protection Plan to comply with an amended minister’s order that was issued on July 22, 2019.
On January 25, 2023, we amended the Species at Risk in Ontario List to reflect new species at risk classifications set out in the 2021 Annual Report of the Committee on the Status of Species at Risk in Ontario. This is required by the Endangered Species Act, 2007.

We have issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval for Summerhill Resorts Ltd. for seasonal sewage disposal works rated at 24,250 litres per day, to service a trailer park located at 2057 Lakeshore Road in Dunnville, Ontario.
