A decision has been made to proceed with amendments to the Mining Act to allow lessees, licencees and owners of mining lands to sell and retain the proceeds from materials extracted for the purposes of testing without the requirement for a mine production closure plan to have first been filed.  Bill 13 received Royal Assent on December 2, 2021.

Approval was granted for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) for Crespi Land Development Corporation to serve a residential subdivision with associated roadways located at 3710 Burnham St. N., in the Township of Hamilton, ON.

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for the establishment of a Year Round subsurface sewage disposal works rated at 13,800 litres per day, to service a commercial plaza located at 871 Ward Street, in the Township of Selwyn, Ontario.

We issued an approval to GFL Environmental Inc. for the use and operation of a waste disposal site, located at 84 Smelter Road, to be used for the transfer and processing of solid non-hazardous waste including construction and demolition waste, mixed waste, and recyclables.

Certificate of Property Use No. 2583-DENG3D for 238 and 242 Cherry Street and parts of 39, 51, 63 and 75 Commissioners Street (River Park North), Toronto, Ontario was issued to City of Toronto, as part of their development plans for the site.

We have amended the Renewable Energy Approvals regulation to add eligibility requirements related to electricity demand. The amendments also prohibit a renewable energy approval from being issued for large wind projects if their power purchase agreements were cancelled by the Independent Electricity System Operator.

The application submitted by L82 Construction Limited to amend their site plan has been approved.

A provisional consent was granted subject to standard conditions on June 14, 2023. The last date to appeal the decision is July 4, 2023.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval (Sewage) is granted to Canterbury Land Development Corporation, for the construction of stormwater management works designed to provide quality control prior to discharge to Lake Scugog.

Approval was granted for a site plan amendment to allow 1063445 Ontario Limited to reduce their extraction setback along the eastern boundary of the licensed property, adjacent to crown land, from 15 metres to 5 metres.

A new Permit to Take Water No. P-300-4191683659 was issued for Roselawn and Main Urban Properties Inc. on February 8, 2023, for 10 years. Water will be taken from one (1) well for long term dewatering purposes in the City of Toronto, Ontario.

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-26-000011 to Kenorland Exploration Ltd. and Auranova Resources Inc. for early exploration activities.

The decision is to: issue the mineral exploration permit.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 3628-BNFGSS on April 20, 2020, which cancels and replaces Permit to take Water No. 2703-83EJ82, for Wellington on the Lake Golf Course Inc. located in Prince Edward, Ontario. The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of April 18, 2030.

On May 13, 2025 application 57-C-242646 for provisional consent was approved with conditions. The application would sever a triangular piece of land from PIN 31386-0450 (approximately 81 square metres in size) as a lot addition to an adjacent lot (PIN 31386-0295) to resolve a driveway encroachment. The last date of appeal is June 2, 2025.

Approval was granted for a licence amendment to allow Carmeuse Lime (Canada) Limited to amalgamate Licence No. 2130 with Licence No. 2129 and No. 2136 under the reference number of ARA Licence No. 2129. Approval was also granted to vary the tonnage condition for the amalgamated license No. 2129.
