The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-21-000131 to Randall Salo for early exploration activities approximately 32 kilometres South-East of Timmins, Ontario, in Douglas township, District of Cochrane, North-East Region.

The decision is to: Issue.

The exploration permit was issued by the Director of Exploration. The Exploration Permit is valid for three years from the date of issue.

Pioneer Construction Inc. was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a pit and quarry in the City of Sault Ste. Marie.

Approval was granted for a site plan amendment to allow Aaroc Aggregates Ltd. to remove aggregate from below the water table in a pit located in the Municipality of Thames Centre.

A decision was made to move ahead with regulatory changes under the Conservation Authorities Act to make associated regulatory changes to support streamlined, timely and consistent conservation authority permitting decisions and ensure permit decisions are focused on natural hazard considerations.

Laverne and Erma Weber application for a Class A licence to extract aggregate from above the water table for the establishment of a new pit has been approved.

An aggregate licence was issued to Greenwood Construction Company Limited to remove more than 20,000 tonnes of aggregate annually from a pit. 

We have amended the Renewable Energy Approvals regulation to add eligibility requirements related to electricity demand. The amendments also prohibit a renewable energy approval from being issued for large wind projects if their power purchase agreements were cancelled by the Independent Electricity System Operator.

The application submitted by L82 Construction Limited to amend their site plan has been approved.

We are moving forward with regulatory changes that will require proponents to self-register more types of waste management systems online. These changes will make it easier for the waste management sector to obtain environmental permissions and begin operations faster, while continuing to protect human health and the environment.

The Ministry is proceeding with enhancements and operational changes to Ontario’s Qualification Program by allowing the use of the Ministry’s digital Building Code during qualification exams, and allowing candidates more time per question. No decisions have been made at this time about the potential design-based changes proposed for the program.

An Environmental Compliance Approval (industrial sewage works) was granted to Stern Laboratories Inc., a testing facility located at 1590 Burlington Street East in the City of Hamilton, Ontario.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval for Sewage Works is granted to Pushlinch Park GP Inc. for the establishment of a new subservice disposal works to serve a proposed industrial building to be used for warehouse/logistics operations, located at lot 26 and 27 Concession 7, Town of Puslinch.

An amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval (Air) No. 8264-73QN7D has been granted to Hudson Boats International Inc. This amendment is for the addition of a new priming paint booth and to reflect the current operations at the facility.

Approval was granted for a major site plan amendment to allow Kurtis Smith Excavating Inc. to permit below water extraction at licence No. 625365, operating at a site in Township of Grey.   

We issued an approval to Les Ateliers Beau-Roc Inc. to amend their existing Environmental Compliance Approval No. 6422-7YRPVH, issued January 22, 2010. Les Ateliers Beau-Roc Inc. is located at 300 Universelle Street, Vars, Ontario.

An aggregate licence #626155 was issued to Tackaberry Sand and Stone Ltd. to extract mineral aggregate material from a new quarry operation 15.7 hectares in size. The annual tonnage is up to 400,000 tonnes.

Amendments to the Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Act enable the ministry to act directly to reduce risks from hazardous wells when an operator is non-compliant and deceased, insolvent, or bankrupt. These changes were part of the Resource Management and Safety Act, 2025 and took effect on December 3, 2025.
