We have amended four producer responsibility regulations made under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016. These changes increase flexibility, reduce burden and simplify requirements for producers.
We decided to repeal sections of the Electricity Act, 1998 (EA) and the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998 (OEBA) that were introduced under the Green Energy and Green Economy Act, 2009 to promote and prioritize the development of renewable energy.
We have approved the three regulated manuals under the Crown Forest Sustainability Act (CFSA). The revisions align with the Sustainable Growth: Ontario’s Forest Sector Strategy and modernize the forest management planning and wood measurement processes while continuing to provide for the sustainability of Ontario’s forests.
