On February 24, 2023, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed an amendment to the Zoning Order, Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 169/21, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as O. Reg. 28/23.
The Minister of Natural Resources is implementing a Designation of areas of Crown land under subsection 34(6) of the ARA to secure aggregate deposits for future use in the development of Ring of Fire roads. The Designation prohibits the issuance of aggregate permits for the designated area until such time as the designation is lifted or amended.
The government has issued the Provincial Policy Statement, 2020 to help increase the supply of housing, support jobs and reduce barriers and costs in the land use planning system.
