We are updating the Technical Guideline: Cleaner Transportation Fuels (ministry guideline) under the Cleaner Transportation Fuels regulation. These are administrative updates to the previous version of the ministry guideline with respect to greenhouse gas performance values used in compliance calculations.

We made regulatory amendments to support a smooth transition from the federal OBPS to Ontario’s EPS program which applies new obligations and greenhouse gas performance standards for Ontario industry beginning on January 1, 2022. The amendments complement the changes proposed in 019-3719.
This approval is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage works) for Hershey Canada Inc. to establish sewage works for the discharge of stormwater in Brantford, Ontario. The approved stormwater system will use infiltration galleries, orifice plates and oil-grit separator units to provide stormwater quantity and quality control.

On September 28, 2021 Ontario filed O. Reg. 679/21, Community Net Metering Projects, and other consequential amendments to provide a framework for community net metering (CNM) and authorize the West Five development as a CNM demonstration project. The new regulation will support innovation and learning for community-based energy systems in Ontario.
