I strong oppose the Highway 413 Act which seeks to shove thorough the construction of the highway disregarding the potential environmental impacts it can bring.

Introducing an exception to the Highway 413 project is a reckless proposal that can do irreparable damages to the environment. This will only exacerbate the climate crisis Canadian are already facing in 2 ways. First, in the destruction of the natural habitats located at the sites of the proposed Highway. Second, induce the use of more automobile, which is a source of air pollution, micro-plastic pollution, CO2 emission, etc.

Building a new highway is the wrong way to solve the traffic problem. Building mass transit is. Mass transit is more sustainable, ecologically friendly and equitable. The government should stop wasting time and money on this highway project and focus on building up mass transit infrastructure instead.
