I am very concerned by the highway 413 proposal. The habitat loss that is already happening in the Halton and Peel regions is devastating, not to mention the prime farmland that is being ploughed over. This is a very short sighted view of what is needed based on the changes in the climate we are already experiencing. Protecting Wetlands, forests, farmland and habitats to mitigate these species loss and food security are better choices than highways. Let’s work all stakeholders to come up with solutions that will actually make a difference like superior transit systems to connect our current cities. We don’t need more urban sprawl.
