Highway 413 is an unnecessary, destructive and expensive project and I object to pushing it through.
The Provinces own studies show that it is not only will the highway NOT reduce gridlock, but it will destroy farmland, forests, waterways and the habitat of multiple endangered species. The Province has intentionally misled citizens about its cost and “benefits”.
The proposed highway also promotes urban sprawl, which we know is not conducive to healthy transit-friendly communities.
Money spent on public transit options would be more effective in reducing gridlock. Another option would be to “open up” the existing highway 407 to trucks to increase efficiency of moving goods.
Please register my STRONG disapproval in wasting taxpayer dollars on an unnecessary, destructive highway.
