Thank you for the opportunity to provide my input to the government of Ontario’s consultation to help inform the province’s Natural Gas Policy Statement.

That said, the entire premise of this consultation is incorrectly biased, as if it was written by Enbridge and not the government of Ontario. I expect Ontario’s Ministry of Energy to be looking out for the best interest of Ontarians, taking steps to protect us from the biggest threat modern humans have ever faced – Namely, Climate Change. I will therefore be responding to the questions that should have been asked. For example, the government of Ontario should have titled this initiative “Consultation to assess the future role of natural gas in Ontario’s energy system and economy”…

I also want to thank the government of Ontario for starting to move in the right direction with respect to power generation, following the IESO’s Dunsky Report which explained that the path to sufficient electrical grid capacity for years to come can be achieved by: 1) Building more renewable energy; 2) Incentivizing ‘demand response measures’ to manage energy peaks; and 3) Establishing energy storage capabilities. Yet, there is much more work that needs to be done.
