The Endangered Species Act is a scientifically backed document to protect Ontario flora and fauna from being destroyed by development. The Act has been weakened for years under Conservative governments and destroying it further will have detrimental impact on the climate, and the province as a whole.
The delays in obtaining permits are necessary, while ecological surveys are completed to ensure we're not doing more damage that cannot be undone, and may impact species already at risk.
This is a gross misuse of power, which send directly related to Doug Ford's desire to continue ripping up protected areas to help his rich friends get richer. It reeks of conflict of interest.j
