The Endangered Species Act was created to protect important species across Ontario. Gutting it to allow for mine development is unnecessary and a detriment to not only our species but also our environment. There has to be a better way to move environmental assessments forward quickly without impacting the environment and species at risk. It was done for the Herb Gray Parkway in Windsor and throughout Ontario for highway construction and development. Do not sacrifice the important protections that have been followed for years simply to allow for mine development.
