I agree that housing is a critical issue in the province but allowing unqualified government officials to decide what constitutes a species at risk is negligence. Where are the checks and balances to ensure that government officials aren’t twisting these classifications to their own profits or agendas? Biodiversity is critical to ecosystem sustainability and productivity. Please focus on development but do it properly. Canadians value our natural spaces and take pride in nature being in our back yard. Allowing project companies to operate and bypass protecting endangered species is not the way to proceed. Please have some pride and accountability with how we choose to develop the province so that Ontarians have healthy ecosystems for generations to come.
