I strongly disagree with changing the Endangered Species Act as listed in the proposal for the Species Conservation Act. It is not necessary to bulldoze huge swaths of green space for use by developers, destroying ecosystems for short term profit. I live in Kingston and the Endangered Species Act has not slowed down construction. If anything the province could be doing more to detoxify soil from old tanneries in neglected neighbourhoods instead of building on top of pristine green spaces. Plus you don’t know what unintended consequences could occur from not protecting endangered animals. More bugs. More pests. Good luck with that.
